About
Pam Keefer’s beautiful spirit can be felt from the moment you meet her and it shines brightly in her artwork. Her happy soul, caring nature and adoration of adventure are infectious and carry through in every masterpiece she creates.
In each captivating work of art, one can appreciate Pam’s genuine talent, natural gift and feel the heart and soul she puts into every piece. Pam says, “Art is like reading a good book: you get absorbed by it, can’t put it down and can escape away from life’s melody.” Whether Pam’s one-of-a-kind creations are gracing your wall and adding sparkle and uniqueness to your home, or as a special gift to a friend or loved one, her joy and love of art and life should be shared with the world and enjoyed by many.
Working with oils/acrylic paint on canvas and feathers, she enjoys three-dimensional art and excels at painting (realist/impressionist/open expressionism), sculpture (figures/fusion art) and pottery. Her love of the great outdoors is incorporated into her sculpture pieces by using nature’s gifts of stone, wood and feathers. Nature’s beauty is defined in her work by using elements of color, light and texture with emotional impacts.
Pam refers to herself as a “kaleidoscope” artist, as she is always changing, growing and constantly inspired and fascinated by varied artists, mediums, subjects and styles.
Pam was born in West Chester, Pennsylvania and resides in California. As a single mom and artist, she worked in the corporate world until 25 years ago when she became a massage therapist, and ten years ago added Bowenwork to her skill set, all while raising three sons on her own who have grown into incredible men and dedicated husbands. This speaks volumes to the strength, love and determination she possesses and has instilled in her children.
Art has held a special place in Pam's heart since she was a young child. Her kindergarten teacher recognized her abilities, as did her parents who nurtured her passion and talent by providing her with art supplies of every kind and continuing education in the art field. Pam is a self-taught artist who studied Fine Arts and Graphic Design at York Academy of Arts, Penn State University, and West Chester Art Center. She was awarded in 2018 the 1st Place Certificate and Blue Ribbon Award in Honor of Artistic High Excellence and Achievement as a Fine Artist of the United States by the Nat'l League of American Pen Women. She has been a juried member of the Yorktown Craft Guild/Pennsylvania Guild of Craftsmen. Pam enjoys participating in various art shows and festivals across the country and recently participated in Jackson Art Fair this August 2024 in Jackson Hole WY. She also happily donates her talent and time to varied non-profits.
“One of the pleasures of art is that it enables the mind to move in unanticipated directions, to make connections that may be in some sense errors but are fruitful nonetheless”
Donald Barthelme
